How it Works

Beginning Tibetan medicine care is a gentle, collaborative process. Each consultation is designed to meet you where you are and support balance across body, mind, and environment.

Whether you’re new to Tibetan medicine or returning for ongoing care, the focus is always on understanding your unique constitution, current imbalances, and lived experience.

1. Initial Consultation

Your first session is a comprehensive intake and assessment. We take time to understand your health concerns, history, lifestyle, emotional wellbeing, and the context of your life.

During this visit, we may explore:

  • Digestive patterns, sleep, energy, and immunity

  • Stress, emotional patterns, and nervous system regulation

  • Environmental and seasonal influences

  • Diet, daily rhythms, and lifestyle factors

Tibetan medicine views health through the interaction of body, mind, and environment, so nothing is considered in isolation.

You are welcome to bring whatever you are experiencing — physical symptoms, emotional stress, chronic conditions, or life transitions.

2. Tibetan Medicine Assessment

Assessment may include traditional Tibetan diagnostic methods such as:

  • Observation and inquiry

  • Pulse reading

  • Urine or tongue assessment (when appropriate)

These methods help identify constitutional patterns and imbalances related to the three governing principles of Tibetan medicine (often described as wind, bile, and phlegm).

The goal is not to label or pathologize, but to understand how balance has been disrupted and what will best support restoration.

3. Personalized Care Plan

Based on your assessment, we create an individualized plan that may include:

  • Tibetan herbal formulas

  • Dietary guidance tailored to your constitution

  • Lifestyle recommendations aligned with the season and your nervous system

  • Gentle somatic awareness and regulation support

All recommendations are offered with care and flexibility. This is not a rigid protocol, but a responsive plan that can evolve as you do.

4. Ongoing Support & Follow-Up

Healing is a process, not a one-time event. Follow-up consultations allow us to:

  • Track changes and progress

  • Adjust herbal formulas as needed

  • Refine dietary or lifestyle guidance

  • Support integration and regulation over time

Some people come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose ongoing care for maintenance, prevention, or deeper balance.

Both approaches are welcome.

A Note on Nervous System Safety

Many people seek Tibetan medicine during periods of stress, overwhelm, or after long-standing health challenges. Sessions are held with attention to pacing, consent, and felt safety.

This work is designed to be supportive, non-invasive, and respectful of your capacity, meeting you with steadiness rather than urgency.
